Sue left Canterbury College of Art 1963 after a four year course specializing in graphic design. Part of the course was the study of relief printmaking. With the purchase of a Columbian printing press in 1989 Sue resumed the art of lino cutting and ‘Fat Ladies’ became the theme of her work. Sue became one of the founder members of the Richmond Printmakers and Teddington Artists Professional group. Prints were exhibited at the National Theatre, The Barbican Gallery and the touring exhibition of The Society of Wood Engravers. A change of direction into painting the late 90’s with a trip to Greece inspired a body of colourful and graphic work resulting in a solo exhibition in Richmond Council’s Riverside Gallery. In 2002 she became a member of the Skylark Gallery and had work on permanent exhibition on the South Bank at Gabriel’s Wharf and participated in the Affordable Art Fair at Battersea with them. Sue was one of the organizers of the first Art Fair at the Landmark Arts Centre Teddington and was the editor and graphic designer of NETWORK south west London artist’s newsletter. Since 2002 Sue has taught in Adult Education at Richmond and Kingston. Sue is a member of the Richmond Art Society and The Fountain Gallery Group.

“ I am a restless artist with a hundred ideas and not enough time to pursue them. I am experimental in my approach and delight in the wonders of the unexpectedness of technique and materials. ”
