Rainbow Runners

In this series I had two main avenues of exploration; colour and movement.

Colour
Juxtapositions and overlays of the four process colours have resulted in unexpected and beautiful colour combinations. The secondary imaging produced by offsetting the lino block have also contributed to the colour vibrations.

Movement
By multiple printing the same image, the movement of athletic bodies is evoked: running, jumping, diving and throwing. The static, yet moving images, echo the work of Eadweard Muybridge.

Paintings
Further exploration in acrylics have developed the colour ideas which are abstract studies of the theme.
